Background

Geographically located structure of the KPO b.v. (Aksai, Karachaganak field, Astana, London, parent companies’ offices) requires high-quality videoconferencing connection between offices.

AVENCOM Responsibility

The previous videoconferencing system, built in 2005, required a radical upgrade, nevertheless preserving made investments. AVENCOM designed and proposed a solution based on Tandberg equipment.

AVENCOM Approach

The developed system provides video conferencing with High Definition picture and modern codecs for audio and video streams. Full support of open protocols such as SIP provides backward compatible with all previously installed equipment produced by other manufacturers. Transport layer works via IP network, with configurable parameters of quality of service QoS; system has a specialized hardware module to support NAT translations. Using IP as a transport medium allows easily integrate the system with IP PBX and with converged services of Microsoft Office Communications Server.

Particular attention was paid to ease the systems usage for end users, their ability to launch any video conference without the advice of qualified IT personnel. Bosch equipment was installed as a terminal audio system, in a configuration that allows maximum echo cancellation.

Summary

Videoconference system based on the Tandberg equipment was successfully delivered and installed.
