AVENCOM has been awarded a contract by Kazakhmys to design and build a Communications Infrastructure and Security Systems for Kazakhmys’ Aktogay Sulphide Project.

Kazakhmys is the largest copper producer in Kazakhstan and one of the top copper producers in the world. Located approximately 450km northeast of Almaty, the Aktogay sulphide complex, the 4th biggest deposit in the world, has an expected lifespan of over 40 years and will provide long-term production of approximately 100,000 tonnes of copper in concentrate per year.

AVENCOM’s scope of supply includes detailed design, procurement, build and factory acceptance testing of integrated telecommunication and security systems to provide all the communications needs for the Process Control System and Business network over three phases – Early Works, Construction and Operation. Telecommunication and security systems will be delivered built into 76 42U cabinets with the provision of 2 40 meter telecom towers.
